Class Without the Flash: Nate's BMW X5M

Performance Technic

With this blog, we are excited to return to a past tradition of customer spotlights. Our enthusiast customer base is numerous and full of variety, and we feel that is deserving of some celebration.

With that said, we would like to introduce Nate’s 2024 F95 X5M. Nate has been a customer for some time now, and is no stranger to BMWs. His previous cars include an M4 and a very tasteful, period correct E46 M3. His switch over to the X5M came in the last year, as he decided he wanted to downsize while still staying within the M family.

The X5M ticked the boxes of being practical yet thrilling, with plenty of room to build upon with upgrades from the names Nate loves.

He wasted no time with making the X5M his own, outfitting the car with KW coilovers, a Dinan exhaust system, and perfectly spec’d ANRKY wheels. For those taking notes, those details are as follows:

ANRKY RS2

  • Gloss black centers with polished clear outer

  • 22” x 10.5” , 23” x 11.5”

The vibe Nate was looking to achieve is, in his words, “understated mobster.” While some may prefer a more outgoing aesthetic, others like Nate more enjoy light touches of personality.

We have to say, we think he’s done a pretty good job. The M car sits nicely on the KW x ANRKY combo, with just a slight ride height lowering in the car’s future. The Dinan exhaust delivers a deeper, elevated version of the car’s stock tone of voice. The black exhaust tips and black wheel faces give the eye something with which to tie the exterior together, while not letting us overlook the polished lips.

We look forward to seeing what else is in store for this build in the future. Nate has already covered many of the checklist items we love to see, so realistically, he’s rounding third base to home in terms of mods.

If you would like to see some of the upgrade/install progress of this car thus far, you can find some posts on our Instagram showing the process. Look out for more updates as well as Nate builds upon what is already a solid X5M.

The Charm of German Engineering: Legends of the Autobahn 2024

Performance Technic

In the realm of German car fanaticism, few events capture the essence of the culture like Legends of the Autobahn. This renowned event, hosted by the BMW Car Club of America, Audi Club of America, and Mercedes-Benz Club of America, is a celebration of the rich heritage and enduring allure of German engineering.

This is a Car Week event that we have been attending for the last several years, and it never seems to disappoint. While the venue changes from year to year, the quality of entrants only grows stronger.

The event stands as a testament to the unparalleled craftsmanship of BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This show isn't just an exhibition—it's a gathering of aficionados who share a deep appreciation for these iconic brands.

One standout feature is the event's focus on bringing together not just cars, but also people. Legends highlights the community aspect of these marques, emphasizing the opportunity for car enthusiasts to connect, share stories, and celebrate their passion for these German makes.

If you have been a part of this community for any notable amount of time, you know that new faces don’t stay new for long. Some of the most important friendships grow from meeting likeminded enthusiasts at events like Legends. It is by far one of the most wonderful aspects of this lifestyle.

Legends of the Autobahn is more than just a car show; it is a celebration of a shared passion for automotive excellence. It serves as a reminder of the timeless appeal of German engineering and the vibrant community that keeps the legacy of these vehicles alive.

This year’s event showcased a focus on the heritage of the BMW M5. We know that many of our customers are big fans of this platform, so this display is sure to have been exciting for anyone who got to see it in person. With the release of the newest M5, as well as the introduction of the new M5 Touring in the US, we have no doubt that we will be seeing a lot of M5 lovin’ in the years to come.

Legends is an event that we are delighted to return to year after year. If you attended, we would love to hear your thoughts on the 2024 installment.

Goodbye 2019: Our December Track Day

Performance Technic

What’s one of the best ways to close out the year (and the decade)? A track day, of course.

It has been quite some time since we hosted our own private track event, so we thought it would be a good idea to bring them back. We serve so many enthusiast drivers that it just makes sense to provide the opportunity for some quality seat time.

Back in December, we decided to host our premier event at the Thunderhill West 2 mile course, where we faced some challenges due to the weather. The schedule ended up working out nicely at the end of the month, and we had a very manageable number of cars throughout the day. A lower driver count meant that those who attended could take advantage of a widely open track, with minimal distraction.

While we did end up getting hit with rain halfway through the day, everyone still had a great time—and got to round out 2019 doing something they love. Please enjoy the gallery of photos from the event below, and stay tuned for our announcement of our next private track day. We hope to see you there!
